There’s basically no chance of me not seeing this in the theatre, since I’ve seen the previous three films and enjoyed them, but the trailer looks cool anyway.

The Martian was a book that surprised me when I read it. It’s definitely a book that seemed to me aimed at the “loves-watching-people-burn-things-for-science-on-YouTube” crowd, but I ended up loving it. It’s smart and funny and while it sometimes feels a little too much like reading hundreds of pages of Hackaday, I still had an inexplicably hard time putting it down.
When I heard it was being adapted for film, I was pleased, and now that I’ve seen the first trailer, I’d rate my feelings about it as excited.

Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, Meryl Streep, and old-timey costumes means that this is basically a must-see movie for me.
I’m not sure I’d say I’m excited about Sense8, mostly because I’m still not sure I understand what it’s about, but I will be watching it when it hits Netflix on June 5. While I’m not quite clear on the plot yet–how exactly do eight strangers with a psychic link threaten the world?–I guess these trailers give us a bit of an idea of who these eight strangers are.

As if tweens weren’t enough of a plague on society already.
I wish there was a bit more color, especially in the shots of fairies, but this looks pretty good.

The scariest thing in the first full-length trailer for FOX’s Scream Queens is Emma Roberts, who looks delightfully monstrous as the leader of a sorority.
SyFy has ordered 12 episodes of a show based on Lev Grossman’s The Magicians. It looks fun, although I can’t comment on how it compares to the books since they’re still on my to-read list. On the bright side, I have until 2016 to read them before the show comes out.

This show had me at Jamie Lee Curtis, but the more I see of it, the more I think it’s going to be actually funny. Not good necessarily, but definitely entertaining.

I’ve never been a fan of Super anything, to be honest. I think it’s one of the most absurd stories in all of comics history.
Supergirl looks like it could be really good, though, and it’s definitely added to my to-watch list for this fall.
